If you are going to try, go all the way.
Good morning.
How has your week been?
Ours has been stormy - literally. Queensland this time of year has afternoon storms, usually around 3pm( school pick up) I spent many an afternoon in the car yelling out to the boys to hurry up and get in the car so we could either get home before the storm or get out of the storm. There was one afternoon in 2015 when the storms and rain were so bad I drove our 4wd to pick up the boys and the water was lapping over the bonnet of the car as I drove into the school. We made it home but some parents and children were stuck at the school until the next morning. I was so grateful I decided that day to leave for the school run early.
Back to my week, the storms this week have flattened our garage, damaged the guttering on our house and roof, and a few of our trees have fallen or continue to drop giant branches that even in determination I can not move, but when I decide to do something it is getting done.
I saw a meme yesterday that said something like:
When I get mad I get independent AF. Don’t worry about it, I’ll bring the new fridge and oven in the house myself.
This felts so relevant this week with insurance assessors, builders and contractors who were very dismissive. However, I am the one paying thousands of dollars for insurance every year, I decided deep in my belly they will be fixing my home or they will give me the cash payout and we will sort it out ourselves.
Chloe and I created the podcast for next Tuesday this week, and our conversation centered around making a decision and sticking to it, backing ourselves and being creative about it. We both had energy to burn on this topic after we both sat down and poured ourselves into business plans for 2024, as I was editing the podcast and the after the 30 bonus episode, I dm’d Chloe saying I think this is my absolute favorite episode.
I will leave you with a passage that stirred my heart this week.
It is by Charles Bukowski.
If you are going to try, go all the way. Otherwise don’t even start.
It could mean mockery- isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you’ll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you’re going to ty, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to the perfect laughter. It is the only good night there is.
My offers for 2024 are becoming deeply refined and beautiful the more I spend time and energy on them, I mentioned last week there will be multiple levels of conversation. I have also this week added 6 journals - these will be downloadable and printable pdf’s. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. The journals are overflowing with questions - not your average questions these are questions that connect the dots between who you are and why you do what you do, the awareness, more questions and your answers helps you figure out your business’s message, culture, values, offers, money and more importantly WHO you are as a woman in her own business. Answering these questions will build a relationship with your business and allows you to then translate that to the story you tell about your business and ultimately the love your clients will have for you and what you are creating.
YOU my weekly reader will be the first to know when they are available.
