Dearest friend,
How was your week?
I know this note is coming to you a day early, I have the funeral of my grandma tomorrow and my writing practice does not “allow” me to schedule. I have tried scheduling newsletters and posts for social media, but my brain keeps me awake at night with what I should change before the newsletter or post is sent to you. I need sleep tonight; so I sit here in front of the fire place with my feet facing the fire, a cuppa of coffee on my left, my phone in the kitchen where there is beef stroganoff in the oven slow cooking, the wind banging the windows and I can hear the crumbling of a giant gum tree in the back yard about to fall over – it has been on a lean for years and it has decided that after overnight rain and strong winds, today will be the day it lays down.
I had a zoom call this morning with my accountability buddy; we were talking about how my week was last week. For me it was a highly emotional week. It was also a week of reflection and shift in perspective and mindset about relationships, goals and dreams and an understanding how precious this life of mine is at this time – I do believe we come to earth at different times for different reasons and what a blessing this life time is – I know it is such a common thing to say or be seen on memes about appreciating this one life we have.
I don’t think we have one life; we have one death. While we are here, we have many lives. When the final breath leaves our body and our we have the last beat of our heart that’s it, we are done and that is our one death. All opportunities are over.
I have post – it notes along the bottom of my desktop and one of them says:
“Create opportunity”
It has been the best reminder for me over the last few weeks to create opportunities for love, friendship, taking photos, conversations, writing, being honest, making money, growing my business, asking for what I want, using my voice for things I don’t agree with, creating time for things I want in my life every day.
Definition of opportunity.
a time or set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something.
The reminder to “create opportunity” on my desktop to see every single day feels full of potential, curiosity, and space.
So where are you” creating opportunity”
Wishing you are beautiful day
Your friend in creating opportunity.
Melinda
